Ayurveda and Mindfulness

Ayurveda emphasizes mindfulness as a key element of holistic health, with practices such as meditation, breathing exercises, and mindful movement playing a vital role in promoting balance and overall wellbeing.

Mindfulness in not a new trend in health and wellness, although it has gained more mainstream attention in recent years. But exactly what is mindfulness?

The definition is rather simple. In short, it is the act of being present in the moment.

How to practice it, however, is a broader subject. Just by being aware of your thoughts and senses, you are beginning the practice of mindfulness meditation. To truly understand the benefits and importance, it may help to follow a guided meditation. One example of this is Kabat-Zinn meditation. Through these meditations, you can learn to understand the seven key attitudes of mindfulness: non-judging, patience, beginner’s mind, trust, nonstriking, acceptance, and letting go.
